The exit polls offer hints some that a small but significant percentage of voters who support or approve of the job President Barack Obama is doing turned around and cast ballots for Mr. Trump, despite Mrs. Clinton’s efforts to cast herself as Mr. Obama’s successor and the guarantor of his legacy.

According to exit polls, 10% of voters who approve of Obama also cast a ballots for Trump. Another 5% of voters who want to continue Mr. Obama’s policies cast votes for Trump.

While the exit polls did not ask directly if 2016 voters cast ballots for Mr. Obama, the exit polls do seem to indicate that there is some percentage of voters who approve of or support Mr. Obama who then cast ballots for Mr. Trump.
